Mid-November is the perfect time to witness Kurume’s magnificent autumn leaves in their prime, among the famous mountainside setting aptly known as the ‘valley of autumn leaves’.
On the 19th November, two seasonal events will take place alongside one another - the “takara no kourasan momiji kari” – literally, ‘viewing the treasured maple leaves of Mt. Korasan’, as well as the ‘Kyushu Olle Fair, Autumn 2017 (Kurume & Mt. Korosan course)’. (The Kyushu Olle is a famous trekking course that runs through the area).
In addition to the crimson landscape, delicious local products will also be on sale, making it a perfect chance to truly immerse yourself in the charms of rural Japan.
