Itami Madan (madan is Korean for ‘plaza’ or ‘public square’) is back on November 12th! This is an annual international ‘meeting place’ event bringing foreign residents and other local people together to enjoy international food, music, and dance. This year, cultures as diverse as those of Korea, Greece, Sri Lanka, China, Bangladesh, the Philippines, Brazil, and Romania will be represented. From within Japan, stalls will be raising funds for the recovery efforts of areas affected by the 2011 East Japan Disaster.
As well cuisine and performances, there will be a children’s bring and buy sale, international citizens’ advice corner, and panel display on Japanese WWII orphans in China.
