JR San’in Line is located on the most Western tip of Honshu facing the Hibikinada (channel) and the Sea of Japan, and running through a beautiful coastline. A scenic train that you can enjoy this superb coastline called "marumaru no hanashi" started operation in August 2017! Yamaguchi Prefecture (Hagi, Nagato, Shimonoseki) has a history of constructing relationships between Japan and the West, therefore, the interior of the two carriages is designed separately based on “Japan admired the West” and “Japan that the Western adores”. The exterior of both carriages is designed "Ocean connected to the West and the East", and decorated by "flower of summer orange" and "hamayū" as the represented flowers that went through the history of this area. One of the pleasures of the train is a lunch pack from local cuisine! A set package of snacks and sweets are also available. (Reservation required in advance.) There is also a sales counter to buy specialties along the railway. Take a journey of the magnificent view and gourmet of San’in coastline.
