Set to take place twice, on the 21st and 22nd April this year, Kurume’s Azalea March is a springtime walking tournament along the Chikugo route, amidst stunning azalea flowers in their full bloom. Along the route, participants will be able to get a real feel for Kurume’s rich nature, history, art and culture. Four different walking courses are available (5km, 10km, 20km and 40km), and participants are free to choose whichever route suits them best. During the course, participants can experience a variety of ‘omotenashi’ (authentic Japanese style hospitality), including refreshments and entertainment.
