Famous for fruit-picking, Tanushimaru town in Kurume, Fukuoka, sees its peak grape-picking and mango sales from the month of July, with fig-picking following from mid-August, along with various other summer fruits available to be harvested and enjoyed.
With its new ‘Kapateria’ café recently opened – conveniently alongside the simultaneous renovation of JR Tanushimaru station, the Kapateria café boasts a unique menu consisting of sweets and Kurume specialities, all created under the expert supervision of its local chef.
The café’s ‘kappa makaron' (macaroons) are especially worth tasting!
Why not come and enjoy some traditional fruit picking, followed by a well-deserved sugary treat at the cafe?
