Taking place in Fukushima prefecture (the birthplace of Ultraman’s creator, Eiji Tsuburaya), this is a stamp rally like no other, with participants able to experience the heroes and villains of the popular Japanese superhero series in AR (augmented reality) form. The event’s official name is “Daiboken! Ultraman AR Stamp Rally” – ‘daiboken’ meaning ‘great adventure’ in Japanese.
Now in its third year, the stamp rally’s contents as well as the characters featured have seen some updates.
With each area themed around a different character (the Iwaki area is holding the ‘Ultraman Orb’ course), those who complete one rally course will win an exclusive sticker, while those who complete two courses can bag themselves a limited edition poster.
