The "Hakone Daimyo Procession" is held on November 3 (Culture Day) every year and is the largest event in Hakone. With loud shouting of "Shita-ni, Shita-ni (get down, get down)", a spear at the head of the queue, a carriage, gun fighters and beautiful female servants, etc. 170 people in total march around Yumoto Spa Town. A brilliant procession on Culture Day that reminds you of the commuter exchange in the Edo period is like looking at a large scrolling picture. Many costumes especially that of the gorgeous female servants has been renewed for this event, and the whole procession becomes even more glittering. Don’t miss the opportunity to travel in time back to the Edo Period with autumn leaves in Hakone.
