~ The mysterious light of the bamboo lantern ~
Nasushiobara's winter event called " Shiobara Onsen, The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter" is held from Saturday January 19th to Sunday March 31st in 2019. Bamboo lanterns lit up in the central area of Shiobara Onsen, Monzen and Furumachi district, and visionary lanterns colour gently during the evening at the hot spring town.
Approximately 1,000 bamboo lanterns set along the street and the bridge parapet are all handmade, cutting and hollowing by local people in this area. All lit up between around 6pm and 9pm and creates a unique atmosphere in Shiobara Onsen.
During the period, we also plan some activities like making bamboo lanterns (free admission).

About 65 mins from JR Tohoku Shinkansen Utsunomiya Line Nasushiobara Station to JR Bus bound for Shiobara Onsen, get off the bus at "Shiobara Monzen" and about 2 mins on foot
