Brewing Sake was popular in Kurume from long ago because of rich water sources and good rice. Today there are many sake brewers, along with Nada in Kobe and Fushimi in Kyoto, which are the three major Sake brewers in Japan.
Between February to March is the season of new Sake! Each brewer has "Sake brewer opening", and delicious, gentle mellow Kurume Sake can be tasted.
There is not only Sake but also wine and Shochu brewers in Kurume. Come and find your favourite taste.
