Itami in Edo period was prospered with sake brewing. Haiku culture was also flourished there, and a lot of writers and artists were in Itami. Kakimori Bunko was established with cultural heritage accumulated in Itami and the collection assembled by the late Rihei Okada. There are more than 11,000 precious collections such as books, hanging scrolls, oblong cards. Kakimori Bunko is one of three major collections in Japan, "Shachku-Chikurei Bunko" of Tokyo University Library and "Wataya Bunko" of Tenri University Library.
