Known as ‘ichigo-hama’ in Japanese, Strawberry Beach is a popular surfing spot, as well as a place where many people go to enjoy stand up paddle and beach yoga whilst taking in the stunning colours of the surrounding sky, whatever the time of day.
Not only is it worth visiting by daytime, however, but thanks to the area’s relative lack of people and commercial facilities, on clear nights the brightly lit starry sky is simply breath-taking to behold.
The beach-side is paved, has toilets and a car park, and there is even a high-quality Japanese teppanyaki restaurant managed by a world-famous chef, a one-Michelin star tempura restaurant, and a gorgeous campsite, making it an ideal getaway destination.
