It is unique Shochu made from water of Shiobara hot spring. There are two kinds of Shochu made from potato and wheat. Shochu made of potato has mild taste for “Beni Azuma” grown in Tochigi prefecture and flower ferment, on the other hand one of wheat has sweet and soft taste because of brown sugar ferment and uses barley of Tochigi prefecture, where is the largest production site of wheat. Both of them have mild taste like aged ones for long time because of mineral of the hot spring. It is not only sold as a souvenir but also offered at hotels and restaurants in Shiobara.
