The Midagahara plateau in Ashikuraji，Toyama Prefecture，is a tourist spot where you’ll find the Tateyama Caldera Observatory and the Hotel Midagahara.
In order to reach the Midagahara plateau you can use the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route.
Its biggest charm is the nature that surrounds it. You’ll enjoy the white cotton grass in the summer and snowy sceneries in the winter.

The spot became famous overseas on the 3rd July 2012 when it was registered on the Ramsar Convention. There are other tourist spots on the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route，such as the Kurobe Dam，so please enjoy these places along with Midagahara plateau.
